I think it was just the whole idea that I grew up very poor and was on welfare as a young kid and thought that I owed something to this country and my mother would always remind us of that and never let us forget about it. And I think that's why most of us went into the military, cuz that was a way to pay this country back. That was the thought process during that time. And so I had no problem volunteering.
